I recently shared how I want to experiment with more minimal outfits while wearing my winter capsule wardrobe (coming soon, by the way! I’m waiting on one more item to arrive!) For me, part of experimenting with clean and minimal looks means learning how to accessorize better. There are so many people who accessorize effortlessly, but I’m just not one of them. I struggle to make things look purposeful and laid back, so this season I’ve chosen a few pieces to focus on. Hopefully by the end of winter, I’ll be more confident in my skills with accessories. This season I’ll be specifically focusing on scarves and handbags.
Let’s get accessorizing!
For winter I really want to play with scarves, and particularly cozy knitted scarves. I recently ordered two from American Apparel that I absolutely love. One is a clean cream-colored knit, and the other is a speckled grey design. Both colors are perfect for my winter color scheme this season, and go with so many pieces in my wardrobe. I’ve also included a more gauzy cream scarf I was given by my sister to experiment with on warmer days. All AA styles are currently 40% off with the code TAKE40.
As far as handbags go, this winter I’ll be focusing on my black and blush crossbody bags. My black bag is vintage, and works so well with so many outfits, but I want to play with including the blush bag as a pop of color in more neutral looks instead of automatically grabbing the black one. My vintage Coach bag is from Dear Golden Vintage, and the blush crossbody is from Everlane (full review here.)
Do you enjoy styling accessories? What are some of your favorite types to wear in the winter season? I’d love to hear!
