Budget-Friendly Natural Makeup from Burt’s Bees: First Impressions

burts-bees-blushesNew & Natural!

You guys know how much I love a good natural makeup product, so when I saw that Burt’s Bees had released a new cosmetics line, I ran over to my local drugstore and purchased a few products. You know, ahem, for the blog. It’s wonderful to have a natural line that is more easily accessible and at a budget friendly price, and I definitely found some winners in the collection. Below you’ll find my thoughts on each product I purchased as well as a video discussing my first impressions each product. Let’s talk makeup!

The first product I gravitated towards was the liquid foundation. It comes in a range of 12 shades, and is marketed as a full coverage base. So far I’m really enjoying this product, although I would describe it as more of a medium coverage rather than full. It has a pretty natural finish, and lasts well throughout the day.

One of my favorite products in the range is the blush which I picked up in the shade Bare Peach. It has just the right amount of pigmentation and a pretty satin finish. There are two other shades in the collection, a pink and a brown, and I’d definitely try more colors!

Nourishing Mascara

Mascaras are very personal, and so far, this one isn’t my favorite. It does a great job at staying in place and defining the lashes, but doesn’t do much in the way of lengthening or volumizing. If you’re looking for a mascara that looks low-key and natural, this might be for you!

A good drugstore brow pencil is a rarity, and I’m happy to report that I like this one! It’s a classic brow pencil with a spoolie on one end, and the color is not to warm for me. I wear the shade Brunette, and I like how natural it looks.

Eyeshadow Trio

These eyeshadow trios are great little collections that make for a super easy eye look. I purchased the shade Shimmering Nudes, and I love the subtly pretty look it creates. These shadows have more of a light pigmentation than some, but they build up easily without fall out, and blend together nicely.

This lip crayon is my new everyday favorite. I picked up the shade Sedona Sands which is a pretty understated nude color. These lip crayons give the effect of a satin-matte lipstick, but are oh-so comfortable to wear. I’ve found that this particular shade lasts quite a long time also.
