As much as I’m looking forward to the fall season, this year I can actually say that I will miss summer clothes! Usually I’m a fall and winter kind of girl in the wardrobe department, but this summer I was able to put together outfits I loved and learn a bit more about my personal style in the warmer months. Today I thought it would be fun to look back and round up my most worn pieces of the summer season in a video. I have five articles of clothing to share with you with a few accessories thrown in for good measure!
As I prepare to switch over my closet for spring, I’m taking a style challenge! For ten days, I’ll be pairing ten pieces in different outfit combinations in a kind of micro capsule wardrobe, and I’m pretty excited about it. This challenge is hosted by two queens of thoughtful style, Lee of Style Bee and Caroline of Unfancy. I’m looking forward to challenging myself creatively over the next several days, and starting next week I’ll be sharing the outfits here on the blog. I selected an assortment of pieces that feel fresh and springy, and also a bit unique, and today I’m sharing those ten pieces with you.
From swingy skirts to pastel hues, let’s get ready for spring.
This week I’ve been pulling out my spring and summer clothes. It’s always so fun to see pieces from the past with the fresh eyes of a new year, and it definitely helps to inspire fun new outfit combinations. As I’ve been assessing what I have currently, I’ve also been taking note of what I would like to add to my closet for the spring season. These items range from updates of old favorites to more trend led items, and I have to confess; as much as I love a streamlined wardrobe, shopping for a new season is pretty darn fun.
Make some room in your closet; here are the pieces I have my eye on.
Today I’m excited to finally share my winter capsule wardrobe for 2017! I surprised myself by minimizing even further, and ended up with a 24 piece wardrobe for the winter season. If you remember from my planning post, I confined myself to a color scheme this season, and I feel that taking that step has made my wardrobe much more cohesive. Many of these pieces will look familiar to you if you’ve followed me for the past few seasons, but there are some new additions as well which I’m excited about. As usual, I filmed my capsule wardrobe so you can get a good idea of what the pieces are like, and I’ve also included a listing of each piece with links to currently available items. I hope this provides some wardrobe inspiration for you!
Grab a cup of tea, cue the Sinatra, and enjoy the video!
Winter is finally hitting my city, and as I type this, there’s a chance of snow. The chill in the air has me thinking more about my winter capsule wardrobe and the pieces that I want to wear for the next few months. I don’t have a lot of pieces in my closet that are exclusive to either winter or fall, so I’m sure there will be some overlap between the two seasons, but I have a few new additions to make as well as some items to switch out.
I’m once again utilizing my capsule wardrobe planner which is still available for you to use also. It contains space for planning your shopping, color scheme, a list of ethical brands, and more! You can download the planner here, and I hope you find it helpful! Another resource I’m really enjoying as I plan is The Curated Closet by Anuschka Rees. It’s full of great advice on personal style and developing a wardrobe you love.
