This year I want to get back into the habit of sharing some more personal posts here on the blog with the purpose of you getting to know me better! If you’ve been around for a while, you might remember that I used to share a monthly recap and goal list. In 2017 I’m starting something along the same lines, but a little bit different.
Especially with all that is going on in our world at the moment, it’s easy to get bogged down and forget all of the awesome things that are happening in our personal circles.
So I present to you The Good Things; a monthly list of memories that brought me joy.
I’ve seen quite a few summer bucket list posts in my Bloglovin’ feed lately, and since we all know I love a good list, I thought I would join in on the fun. I always find that listing out things I want to do or accomplish means they are way more likely to actually happen, so to inspire some productivity in my life, here are some goals I have for this summer! 😀
The Weekender– A blog post written and published on the weekend.
Hello friends! Meet my new post series, similar to my “Favorite Things” posts from the past– those are being reworked into something new. In these weekend posts, expect to hear what I got up to over the past week and also to find some links to fun things around the web. I hope you all had a lovely week. I’ve been hard at work coordinating a local non-profit’s part in an event next week which entails lots of phone calls and emails as I connect with volunteers. It’s something very new for me, but I’m excited to be a part of it, and I’ll be sure to share some photos after the event takes place. On Thursday my younger sisters had their spring harp recital, and I have to admit that now I desperately want to take lessons in the fall. We will see if that actually happens. 😉 My friend Brynna’s birthday was this week, and we celebrated with lots of tea and movies. We also made a trip to our favorite local coffee shop. If you are ever in West Little Rock definitely make a stop by Café Brunelle! In other random news, I was out shopping at Homegoods yesterday and found coffee mugs to match my new tea set! I retrained myself and only got one, since I really don’t think I have space in my life for too many more coffee mugs.
Some links to take you through Monday:
-My sister has a dairy allergy, so this week she and I made vegan mac & cheese! This recipe was quite tasty!
– I really loved Mandy’s post on organic blog growth, and highly recommend it for any other bloggers in need of some encouraging words.
– How pretty is this dress from J. Crew?! That price tag not so much, though. 😉
-I love vlogs, and Lily’s latest was just too sweet.
-Claire’s recent video on photography for blogging and Instagram was so fun to watch, and chock-full of great advice!
Thank you guys for reading this week– I’ll see you back here on Monday!
Prepare yourself for tea set photo overload! This set has a bit of a story. I first fell in love with Royal Albert’s Polka Rose pattern around five years ago. I had grown up loving their classic Old Country Roses china, and even had a mini tea service for my dolls in that pattern. When I discovered Polka Rose, it seemed like the perfect updated edition of an old favorite, and fit my personality perfectly. After stalking it on the internet for several years, I finally decided to order it as a graduation present to myself! 😉
The set is the prettiest pale mint green speckled with white polka dots. I love the gold rims, and the sprinkling of pinky roses. I ordered the tea service and four tea cups and saucers off of Amazon which was a bit cheaper than other sites. Eventually I’d love to add plates and serving-ware to my collection. I think it’s the perfect vintage tea set, and I can’t wait to use it for tea parties!

I did a post on my favorite Christmas movies years ago, but thought I’d do an updated edition today, and just narrow it down to my top five. I love movies in general, but I especially love Christmas movies. There is something about them that makes the season more magical and alive to me. Be prepared to make some hot chocolate, ignore the studying you told yourself you would do, and get cozy with a great film!
