Embracing Romantic Style for Summer

Seasonal Updates

Each year when the weather warms up, my style goes through a shift towards all things flowing, billowy, ruffled, and romantic. Sizzling summer days conjure up visions of 1970s music festivals and the Victorian revival styles that have always had a place in my heart. My more minimal basics move to the back of the wardrobe to make way for white lace blouses, floral dresses, and flowing maxi skirts. And speaking of flowing maxi skirts, let’s talk about the lilac-hued number I’m wearing in this post!

Untitled Thoughts

I had been following the slow fashion line Untitled Thoughts on Instagram for quite a while when the lovely owner, Brittani Bumb, reached out and offered to let me try out one of her beautiful designs. Of course I jumped at the chance, and we settled on the Reese skirt, a 100% organic cotton voile piece hand dyed to the softest shade of purple. When I took it out of the box, I fell in love with the way the soft cotton fabric draped, and the fullness of this skirt is just so fun. It makes me feel like Cinderella, and for me, that makes it a winner.

Untitled Thoughts garments are all crafted right here in the USA, just a few states over from me in Georgia. The team behind the pieces uses sustainable fabrics, trims, and repurposes vintage and thrifted garments into brand new pieces. blush slide sandals

I took it on my recent road trip to Arizona and California (more on that soon! I have so many posts to catch you up on!) and enjoyed wearing it for a day in Palm Springs, my hometown! For this look, I kept it simple and let the dramatic skirt do the talking. I paired it with a fitted and knotted striped tee for a vintage inspired feel, and added my favorite blush slides to mix in a modern element. I put my hair up in a bun since this skirt  made me feel like a graceful dancer, and didn’t feel the need for anything else but a swipe of lipstick. 1. First of all these pictures are so killer! Second, this skirt definitely reminds me of Cinderella and it looks stunning on you. I always love seeing how you tie striped shirts and this one is great! Can’t wait to see more from this trip.

  2. LOVE this skirt! I did some work with some fair trade and ethical clothing companies not too long ago. I love to see companies doing good and giving back. You look beautiful in all these pics <3
