Evanston & Chicago

I’ve been in the Chicago area for the past ten days, and have absolutely loved it! My dear friend Brynna and I have been staying with my brother, and have had a blast exploring both Chicago and Evanston. Evanston is full of beautiful Victorian homes, quaint thrift shops, and independent coffee shops. The Lake Michigan beach is near by, and is just beautiful.

Bikes are everywhere in Evanston…I’ve been inspired to get back to biking.

This was one of my favorite homes we saw. I love the color.

Brynna and I rented bikes in Chicago, and had a wonderful time riding them around the city!

The Art Institute has a phenomenal collection of impressionist art including works by Monet, Degas, and Van Gogh.

We went to Starbucks way to many times. This one was particularly cute.

We had dinner on the 95th floor of the Hancock Center. Talk about a good view!

  1. This looks so fun! I haven’t been to Chicago since I was 14.. ? I’ve been wanting to go back though. I never would have thought to go to Evanston.. .but it sounds right up my alley. The art institute is somewhere I particularly want to visit again. I remember seeing the Seurat… but only vaguely. I need to go back and visit. I will highly recommend both the Saint Louis Art Museum and the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art (Kansas City) as well! They both have amazing collections, including Monet’s waterlilies! 🙂 – we live near KC so we visit the Nelson quite a little bit. So glad you had a lovely trip! 🙂 -Alexandra

    1. Thanks for your comment Alexandra! I had a blast in Chicago. Thanks for your museum recommendations! I’ll have to keep those in mind if I’m ever in any of those cities. 🙂
