Favorite Foundations with SPF

spf-foundations-2 spf-foundationsSummer is in full swing, and a lot of times that means more sun exposure. I typically go for foundations with a sunscreen built in for extra sun protection because I have quite a bit of scaring leftover from teenage acne, and I always want to make sure to protect my skin so that it can continue to heal properly. Today I’m sharing three foundations that I’ve been using this summer all of which contain SPF! These foundations are all different finishes and weights, so hopefully there is something here for everyone.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation SPF 15

This Tarte foundation is definitely the most full coverage of the bunch. I typically go for this one on not so good skin days, and it does a great job of evening out my complexion. It is almost a whipped mouse texture, and has what I would describe as a natural matte finish. This formula is also long lasting making it perfect for long summer days.

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation SPF 20

I had been on the hunt for this foundation for months, and finally found it a couple of weeks ago at one of my local drugstores! It is a thin liquid formula, but still has a nice medium amount of coverage. The finish is luminous which is my favorite for everyday, and the product feels very lightweight on the skin.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Foundation SPF 20

I’ve really been loving this foundation this summer. I like to apply a very small amount with my fingers, and blend it until it’s nearly undetectable. The formula is a little less dewy than the Revlon option, but still looks very natural. I would say it has good medium but buildable coverage, and doesn’t feel too heavy for these hot summer days.

I hope this post was helpful if you have been looking for a foundation with SPF! Now go have some fun in the sun! What are your current favorite foundations? I’d love to hear!

  1. I’ve used the Neutrogena for a while and really liked it. I recently switched back to Mary Kay (without sunscreen so I always blend the makeup wih my own sunscreen before applying). I prefer this option because I really like the feel of the non-SPF Mary Kay and how long it lasts, however if I needed an SPF foundation I would definitely go back to the Neutrogena. So there are my two cents.

  2. Thanks for this, Lauren! I’m definitely going to try the Revlon one as I prefer lighter coverage & have had that one on my “uncertain” list for a while! I love a good dewy finish as well, even in the summertime when my skin can get dewy on its own…XD
