As much as I’m looking forward to the fall season, this year I can actually say that I will miss summer clothes! Usually I’m a fall and winter kind of girl in the wardrobe department, but this summer I was able to put together outfits I loved and learn a bit more about my personal style in the warmer months. Today I thought it would be fun to look back and round up my most worn pieces of the summer season in a video. I have five articles of clothing to share with you with a few accessories thrown in for good measure!
The White Lace Dress
I loved wearing my white lace dress from Anthropologie this summer. It looks effortless on its own, and I also love it paired with a denim jacket for a bit of structure. To me, this piece is the perfect blend of Victorian and 1970s, and it reminds me a bit of vintage Gunne Sax dresses. This is definitely a piece I will miss once autumn hits!
The Wide-Leg Crops
My wide-leg crops from Everlane have become a definite wardrobe staple, and I’d love to add one of the darker colors to my wardrobe for the cooler months. These trousers are comfortable and versatile. I found myself wearing them to work with more structured tops, and out for coffee with a simple tee.
The Light Linen Skirt
I thrifted this little linen skirt, not being quite sure how much I would wear it. It turned out to be a summer favorite because it goes with nearly every top in my wardrobe! The linen fabric is perfect for hot summer days, and I love the classic cream color. It can look dressy paired with flats and a nice blouse, or more laid back paired with a simple tee and sneakers.
The Classic Striped Tee
This Everlane striped tee has made many appearances here on the blog, and with good reason! I wear it at least once a week, and I find that it is the perfect top to take across all four seasons. The fabric is a little bit thicker for the cool months, but it is still comfortable in hot temperatures. I love the boxy cut and three-quarter sleeves. Styling tip: the sleeves look great cuffed!
The Criss-Cross Tank
Earlier this summer, ThredUp was kind enough to offer to let me choose a piece for my summer wardrobe. I ended up picking out this tank top, and it has been a wardrobe work horse! I love wearing it with a jacket for work, or paired with my wide-leg trousers for running around town. It goes with so much of my wardrobe, and is the perfect piece for keeping cool in the heat.
I’ve kept accessorizing simple this summer, and more often than not, I’m wearing the same three accessories: my blush crossbody bag, two-toned slides, and bandana. I love that all three of these pieces coordinate well, and the add a pop of blush to my predominately neutral wardrobe.
