Flea Market Finds

Well friends, we are in the home stretch! I know for many this week is exam week, and mine is next week. I actually finish on Wednesday this semester, which means just one more week! Good luck to any of you who are studying for finals…remember to keep school and grades in perspective and just do your best. I’m constantly reminding myself that grades are not eternal. (Shout out to Katelyn!)

This past weekend the aforementioned Katelyn and I made a trip to a local flea market. Since we attend university in a small town, I had high hopes of finding some cool vintage gear. The actual flea market itself was quite large, and had a huge variety of items.

I ended up getting four records, a bag of vintage thread, and a super cute mid-century glass. Success if you ask me!

The records I found are so fun! I just love the cover of the Beatles album, and what’s not to love about an Elvis Christmas vinyl? Yes, I do realize it is April. Let’s just say I’m planning ahead.

I have been majorly crushing on colorful vintage glasses for a while. Ideally I will find a whole set, but I just fell in love with this one. It has the prettiest pale coral flowers, and if I’m honest, how many vintage glasses does a college girl need?

So if you sew, (see what I did there?) you have probably noticed the ever increasing price of thread. I’m sure you can imagine my excitement at finding a bag of vintage spools in candy colors for a grand total of $2! The thread is still very strong, and I’m currently using some of it on my quilt.

Well, I’m going to spend the rest of the afternoon on some theory homework, with some hot tea and a bit of Maroon 5 on repeat.

I hope you are all having a wonderful week!

Have you found any fun vintage items lately?

  1. Wow, those are some great finds! Especially the Beatles Album!

And just to let you know, Becca and I nominated you for the Liebster Award!

  2. This glass is so lovely! I am glad that you posted about it! What a great find! I think anything would be beautiful in it… like makeup brushes or striped paper straws on the bar! 🙂 I recently found a few vintage statement type necklaces that I love and a cute handbag… but it reeks of cigarette smoke.. which for an allergy prone non-smoker is kinda terrible. Wish I would have noticed first but it was under $5 so if the smell isn’t gone it’s not the end of the world. 🙂 -XO Alexandra
