Going Green at Sephora

Green and clean Sephora brands!Recently I’ve been trying to be more conscious of the products I use and their effect on my health and the earth, and this has extended into my beauty routine. When I first started researching more natural and cruelty free brands, I was afraid this would limit my options in Sephora, but I’ve been happily surprised at the number of healthy and kind options that I already loved! Today I have compiled a list of my favorite cruelty free and more natural brands you can purchase at your local Sephora.

My favorites: Matte Creme Lip Crayon, Agave Lip Mask

Why it’s good: amazing quality, cruelty free, food grade ingredients

Bite is the place to look if you love lipstick. The brand is heavily centered around lip products, and focuses on using only food grade ingredients. I love that they often use berries as pigments– this makes the lipsticks smell amazing! The quality of their lip products is really unparalleled. I’ve never tried a lipstick that lasted longer on my than one of my matte lipstick from this line!

My favorites: Coconut Watercolor Eyeshadows, Aragn Enlightenment Illuminizer,

Why it’s good: Products utilize pure argan oil and high quality natural ingredients, cruelty free, skin care options, nourishing and beautiful at the same time.

I first got into Josie Maran products when I picked up a kit they had out at Christmas time, and I was immediately hooked! Her Coconut Watercolor eyeshadow in the shade Rio de Rose Gold is one of my all time favorite summer beauty products. I especially love the shimmery products from this line for their beachy summer look.

My favorites: Eye Shadows, Park Avenue Princess Bronzer, Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation

Why it’s good: Great variety of products and shades, natural, cruelty free, gluten free, high quality.

Tarte is one of my favorite makeup brands, and I use their bronzer pretty much every single day! Their powdered products have great pigmentation and lasting power, and I love that they have so many options in their line. If you have a gluten allergy like one of my family members, makeup can actually be a concern, and Tarte is gluten free!

My favorites: Creme Nail Polish in Flowers in Her Hair

Why it’s good: 5 free formula (no formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, DBP (dibutyl phthlate), or camphor,) cruelty free, beautiful colors, formula, and packaging.

I wanted to include a nail polish, and while nail polish isn’t exactly natural, Deborah Lippmann polishes are some of the better options available. Toxins are a concern when it comes to nail polishes, and while many are 3 free, Deborah Lippmann is 5 free!

Being more conscious in shopping decisions is a journey, and old habits die hard, but I love that these brands are making it easy to shop with a heart and still have fun!

What are some of your favorite more natural and cruelty free makeup brands? Have you tried any that I listed here? I’d love to hear!
