I love new years. 365 shiny new days to write your story on. What could be more exciting? I’m not one for making resolutions per say, but I am all about reflecting on the past year and making goals for the coming year.
2014 was such a wonderful year. I always like to go back and read through my journal when I come to the end of a year. In doing that this year, I was overwhelmed by how much I’ve grown and how much has happened. It was the year of growing friendships, settling in my own church, rediscovering grace, loosening my grip on things I needed to let go of, hospital visits, remodeling, Chicago, Philippians, About Time (the movie), Never Let me Go (the book), coffee, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, writing, photo taking, confusion, fear, and learning to trust in spite of my circumstances. I loved you 2014- I really did.
Looking ahead to the coming year, I don’t have as much of a clear idea of what I expect from it as I usually do. I think that’s probably a good thing. This year I will start my senior year of college and move into my first apartment! Both of those things are pretty darn exciting. A few goals for the new year-
-Write in my Q&A journal everyday
-Write more in general
-Read 100 books
-Take a photo everyday
-Keep growing in faith
-Start driving again
-Take a trip
Thanks for reading through 2014- I hope you will stick around for all that this next year holds.
Cheers to a brand new blank canvas of a year! May it be your best yet.
