Les Fleurs

cotton and steel rayon fabric

When I found out last year that Rifle Paper Co. was releasing a fabric line in collaboration with Cotton & Steel, I was over the moon excited. Sewing is one of my favorite hobbies, and you all know my love for Rifle Paper Co. runs deep. The collection, Les Fleurs, released this summer, and I ordered a couple of fabrics as soon as I got the email. My first project was this little dress!

I was so excited to see that the line included some lovely rayon fabrics, and selected this drapey navy to make myself a dress. I love the peachy blush floral and the pops of orange. It’s such a beautiful material. I wanted to make a dress that would transition well into autumn, so for my pattern I chose Dahlia from Colette Patterns. Colette Patterns is an independent pattern company based out of Portland Oregon, and some of my favorite handmade items were made using their patterns. I love the classic styling of this design, and I love how the fabric stitched up.

The fit, flow, and print all make me feel super confident, and if there was ever a me dress, this is it. 🙂 It really is perfect for this in between seasons time, and I’m so excited to style it for autumn. Right now I’m dreaming of the cooler crisper weather, so today I pulled out some of my favorite fall makeup items including a blush called Spiced Cider– how perfect is that?
