I’ve never dealt with a hatred for Valentine’s Day as a single person- I just use it as excuse to embrace everything pink, floral, and Victorian. Also I may or may not eat a lot of chocolate. I love the excuse to send something handmade to people I love, and today I’m sharing some of my ideas for handmade cards!
I love downloading and printing scans from old publications. The Graphics Fairy is a great place to start. You can find some lovely free pieces of vintage scrap. For my cards this year, I used old postcard scans that I printed, and added floral images as well as lace and ribbon. Pink velvet ribbon just screams Valentine’s Day to me! The rose card you see in the photos is one of my favorites. I simply glued the floral image to a kraft paper card, and cut around the edges to create a really unique little note card.
I hope you can take some inspiration from my little project, and maybe create something pretty for the people in your life.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
