5-free? 7-free? 8-free? Cruelty-free?
Yes please!
Hi there friends, and happy Monday! As I’ve become more interested in natural and cruelty-free cosmetics, I’ve done a bit of research on nail polishes. Nail polish is one of my favorite things, and it was interesting to learn a bit more about the ingredients of each brand that I used. I put my nail polish collection through a bit of a detox, and today I want to talk about some brands that have remained favorites in my collection. Let’s go!
Butter London
Butter London has been a favorite nail polish brand of mine for years, and the fact that it is both 8-free and cruelty-free has kept it a favorite in my collection. Two of my all-time favorite shades are Kerfuffle, a pretty peach, and Champers, a shimmering champagne. These polishes are such good quality with good coverage and minimal chipping.
Ciaté
And more specifically, Ciaté x Olivia Palermo. While I only own one polish from this line, it is one of my favorites that I reach for year round. The one in my collection is Napa Valley, a stunning wine color with a glossy finish. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever tried a better formula. These polishes are 6-free and cruelty-free.
Deborah Lippmann
I’ve owned a few Deborah Lippmann polishes over the years, but the one that remains in my collection is Flowers in Her Hair. It’s a beautiful mint shade, and I’ve never found anything quite like it. Deborah Lippmann polishes are 5-free, cruelty-free, and just beautiful. They have a wonderful variety of colors, and I’m eyeing the purple shades in their new fall collection.
Lauren B.
I love that Lauren B. says that they “tick all the boxes,” because they truly do. Their beautifully packaged nail polish line is natural, non-toxic, vegan, cruelty-free, and 5-free. I have the shades LOVE, a sheer pink, and Laurel Canyon Lover, the perfect deep red. Lauren B. has a wonderful selection of colors as well as a variety of top coats and treatments. I love the values of this brand as well as their beautiful polishes!
Nails Inc.
I love Nails Inc. polishes for their unique brush design which makes painting my nails a much quicker task than other polishes. I also love the quality of their beautiful polishes. Mine are both from the Nailkale range, and are called Duchess Walk, a bright peach, and Windsor Mews, a lilac with a hint of grey. Nails Inc. polishes are 5-free and cruelty-free.
Extras
For my base and top coat, I love the Dual Purpose Base/Top Coat from Lauren B., as well as her Gel Like Top Coat. The Gel-Like Top Coat gives a glossy long-lasting finish which I love. To keep my nails looking their best, I love to use the Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. I’ve used this stuff since I was a teenager, and I love the fresh lemon scent.
Next on my list to try out? Pacifica, Smith & Cult, and 100% Pure!
Shop the post:
I’ve heard of Butter London and Deborah Lipmann. I also have Habit, Kure Bazaar, and Aila bookmarked. I think it is starting to be fairly (for clean beauty) easy to find brands like this, but I haven’t read of any options for remover. That acetone is HARSH.
I personally have the water-based Aquarella nail polish, and their remover. But I haven’t used that in a while. I need to use it up, I’m not planning on buying it again. I only paint my toenails, and it isn’t long lasting for even that.
I haven’t tried any natural nail polish removers at this point, but I’ve seen several online! I may need to try some and do a post on that in the future! I haven’t heard of a lot of the brands you mentioned, so thanks for sharing Livia! I always appreciate your thoughtful comments!

Great post Lauren!! I have an RMS beauty one in a peachy summery shade, a couple of Pacifica ones that are nice too. Lately I was in the habit of using Madam Glam gel polishes as they last a really long time, I had to invest in a light to do this which I was able to snag economically off Amazon! Thanks!
Thank you so much Ruth Ann!! I definitely want to try the RMS polish! They have such pretty shades– I may get one of the deeper wine colors once fall arrives. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! 🙂

Thanks for this post! I’ve been trying to find more natural nail polishes too, and the ones I’ve tried are Priti, which is 5-free and comes in tons of beautiful colors. I also have one bottle of Pacifica, and was super impressed with how long it lasted without chipping.
Thank you so much for reading Bethany!! And thank you for letting me know your thoughts on Pacifica– I’m excited to try them out!

Oh, Lauren B. sounds like a brand I would love to try. Am definitely going to find out if it is available in Europe, ’cause these colours look amazing and it sounds so promising. Do you need a light for the Lauren B. gel like top-coat?
Ohh I hope you are able to find them in Europe Emilie! No light is necessary for the top coat! Thank you so much for reading!
