Happy Monday friends!
Over the past few years, I haven’t read as much as I used to. I miss it. In light of this, I decided to compile a book list for myself to complete this summer. My list is all over the board, so maybe it can give you guys some ideas for what you want to read in the near future!
1. Never Let Me Go, by Kazuo Ishiguro
This is a book I’ve been interested in for quite some time, but just never read. There is a film version with Carey Mulligan, Keira Knightly, and Andrew Garfield that looks wonderful, but I’m determined to read the book before I watch the movie.
2. Radical, by David Platt
I’ve heard many a friend sing the praises of this book. I think it’s high time I check it out.
3. Home: A Memoir of My Early Years, by Julie Andrews
This was a somewhat random choice, but I’m a person who loves learning about other people’s lives. Julie Andrews is a woman I greatly respect, and I’m sure her auto-biography will be interesting.
4. Running Like a Girl, by Alexandra Heminsley
On to the health and fitness category! I’m trying to learn to run. And I’m trying to learn to love it. That’s what this book is about.
5. The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien
Most people read this one in school, but I never did. My siblings are diehard Tolkien lovers, and if I wish to understand anything they talk about, I had best get to reading.
6. The Midwife Trilogy, by Jennifer Worth
Call the Midwife is one of my absolute favorite shows, so when I learned it was based on a book series, I knew I would add the series to my list.
