Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and even though I’ve always been a single lady on a day celebrating romance, I can’t help but love it. I get caught up in all things red, pink, and pretty, and I love the excuse to hang out with some of my favorite gal-pals. For today’s look, I wanted to show you how I created a Valentine’s appropriate outfit from my capsule. Including one or two statement pieces in your wardrobe can help to stretch it across special occasions and events. And read on to the end of the post for my Valentine’s Day shopping guide, full of all kinds of pretty things from cruelty free lip colors to made in America frocks.
Bring on the pink, and of course, some black.
This look relies heavily on black basics, but the statement skirt in a blush pink silk makes it feel so fancy. Look for a simple tee with an interesting neckline for more versatility. I love how this black tee has a front and back v for a bit of interest and drama. I let the skirt do most of the talking, but added some fun on-trend black heels and a simple matching clutch. For hair and makeup, I took my inspiration from the 1960s to give the ensemble a more retro feel, and I love the result. It’s perfect for a night out, but doesn’t feel too overdone.
