My Valentine’s Day Look & Shopping Guide

Valentine's Day Outfit Ideas: Pink Skirt, Black Tee from Anthropologie, Madewell Cara Pumps

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and even though I’ve always been a single lady on a day celebrating romance, I can’t help but love it. I get caught up in all things red, pink, and pretty, and I love the excuse to hang out with some of my favorite gal-pals. For today’s look, I wanted to show you how I created a Valentine’s appropriate outfit from my capsule. Including one or two statement pieces in your wardrobe can help to stretch it across special occasions and events. And read on to the end of the post for my Valentine’s Day shopping guide, full of all kinds of pretty things from cruelty free lip colors to made in America frocks.

Bring on the pink, and of course, some black.

This look relies heavily on black basics, but the statement skirt in a blush pink silk makes it feel so fancy. Look for a simple tee with an interesting neckline for more versatility. I love how this black tee has a front and back v for a bit of interest and drama. I let the skirt do most of the talking, but added some fun on-trend black heels and a simple matching clutch. For hair and makeup, I took my inspiration from the 1960s to give the ensemble a more retro feel, and I love the result. It’s perfect for a night out, but doesn’t feel too overdone. 1. This is a beautiful outfit Lauren! So simple and classic but very romantic and special too! I somehow only just realised valentines day is coming up. I always think – oh I could have done some fun things on my blog for it and then it seems to just pass by so quickly! haha. Ah well! There’s always next year I guess!! xx

    1. I totally understand that Lauren! It happens to me all the time, and I barely remembered this year! Thankfully my capsule wardrobe currently includes a lot of pink! 😀
I hope you are having a wonderful day– Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a comment!

  2. Gorgeous!! Great photos too!!

My blush tops are all better suited for spring, and I was afraid I’d freeze, so I opted for a light chambray shirt (second hand), cropped white boucle wool jacket (that I’ve had for a decade), and a thrifted black swing skirt with a pair of frye boots I’ve had for 10 years and a vintage coach bag…I’m glad I hung on to those old, high quality pieces! It actually looked really cute!

    Keep up the great work!
