I love wardrobe staples that can be mixed up across all four seasons, and today I wore an outfit that was entirely made up of pieces I wear all year! Basics are awesome for pairing with statement pieces, but I also love how they look together for a more simple and casual look. Today’s look is a combination of a striped shirt, anorak jacket, and jeans. These are pieces I always have in my capsule, so today I’m sharing how I style them for the autumn and winter seasons!
Because basic doesn’t have to mean boring, does it?
When I shop for basic pieces, I love to look for classics with a bit of flair. For example, my anorak is a classic green color and material, but has panels of eyelet lace that give a feminine feel. The lace detail also helps it to translate in warmer seasons. My striped tee is in a heavy weight with a boxy cut that I adore, and I paired it with laid-back high-rise jeans.
To make the look autumn/winter appropriate, accessories are key. I kept my accessories in black which automatically brings the look into autumn and winter. My wool hat keeps my head nice and toasty, and also adds some cool weather style. I’m wearing my Madewell Billie Boots and my vintage Coach Regina as per usual, but today I also have some fun polka-dotted socks on with my boots. A simple necklace and red lip were my final touches!
