When Megan Nielsen posted her new Veronika skirt pattern as a free download this week, I knew I would have to make it. It’s a circle skirt pattern with fun details such as a wide waistband and scalloped pockets- right up my ally! I was so excited to try out the pattern that I ran to the fabric store in search of something that would make a perfect summery skirt. This dotted kelly green linen jumped out at me, and I knew it would be perfect for the project. The skirt was quick and easy to put together, and I love the finished result! It makes me feel like I stepped strait out of the 1950s. And the twirl factor on this thing! #cantstopwontstop

I opted to pair the skirt with simple black pieces to keep it grounded. This v-necked top came from the Anthropologie sale, and was only $10! I’ve been wearing my black ankle strap sandals from Target so much this summer that I already have a tan line from them. 🙂 Oops.

I haven’t sewn a garment in so long, and it felt good to make something again!

Do any of you sew? If so, have you made anything fun lately? Do you like circle skirts?

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

  1. Such a gorgeous skirt! You did a wonderful job sewing it and styling it, and thank you for the pattern link! I don’t sew much, but my sister does, and she would love this skirt.
