Last month my family took a road trip out to Arizona to spend some time with family. We all met in Sedona, Arizona, a place I loved visiting growing up, and spent a few days at a house my aunt had rented. The scenery in Sedona was amazing, and we enjoyed exploring the town. We also took an afternoon to stop by The Grand Canyon, something that blows my mind each time I see it. Near the end of the week we drove over to the Palm Springs area in California (where I grew up!) and I was able to spend a day there before flying back home to get back to work.

Hi friends, and happy Friday! I recently thrifted this little blush kimono style jacket, and I’ve been wearing it all the time! It’s been so much fun to style this piece in different way, so I thought I would put together a little lookbook of my favorite outfits featuring it. I love how it adds a little something extra to my outfits, and can easily be dressed up or down. One of my favorite things about thrifting are the little unique layers you can find. They make me more creative in putting together my outfits which is always a good thing in my book! Watch the video below to see the outfits, and read on to the end of the post to find links to anything currently available!

Vintage Picks No. 3 // Inspired by Alexa Chung

vintage-clothing-alexa-chung-style60s meets 70s meets now

When it comes to modern day style inspirations, I always find myself referencing Alexa Chung, and I think her style is especially interesting to those of us who like to incorporate vintage into our closets. Alexa’s style is an eclectic mix of 60s mod, 70s cool-girl, and current trends. I often turn to her recently photographed looks for outfit inspiration, particularly in the fall and winter months.

Key elements of her outfits? Vintage-inspired blouses, a-line skirts, oversized outerwear, and quirky pieces that don’t take themselves too seriously. Today I’ve collected a mixture of casual and dressy vintage items from kick-flare jeans, to stripey sweaters, to the perfect 1960s mod dress. Click on the pictures in the slideshow below to be taken directly to the product page.

Who are some of your modern-day style inspirations? I’d love to hear!

Travel Diary: London, England

london-travel-photography-blogTea, Rain, & Architecture.

The last couple of days of our international travels were spent in London. We took the Eurostar from Paris to London, and enjoyed a quiet two days drinking lots of tea, exploring the touristy buildings, and even getting caught in a rainstorm, an event that felt quintessentially British. This was my second time in London, and I absolutely loved it. The first time I visited, it didn’t impress itself on my memory the way Paris did, but now six years later, I may just prefer it. While London is a bustling city, in comparison with Paris, at least to me, it feels like a quiet breath of fresh air. One thing I love about travel is how much it teaches me about myself, and as I’ve had the opportunity to revisit these different places, I’ve learned that now I’m much more drawn to quiet reserved charm than sparkle and glamour.
