Spring 10×10 Style Challenge: Look No. 5

blush pink t shirtWhew, the spring 10×10 is halfway through, and I’m so happy it’s Friday! My week came to a bit of a hectic end, but I’m looking forward to taking it easy over the weekend and enjoying the Easter holiday with my family. Speaking of taking it easy, I think today’s outfit may just be the most relaxed look I’ve shared here on the blog! I need a ready rotation of comfortable relaxed outfits for work I do with a local international group, and this look is perfect for those busy mornings. It’s functional, but features a little bit of styling that I’ll talk about below.

This look is all about the basics. Let’s try to make jeans and a tee a little more interesting!

  1. A blush tee (Everlane, the rose color is sold out in this style, shop it in a v-neck here)
  2. Skinny jeans (Prana)

The clothing components of this look are about as easy as you can get: jeans and a tee! I paired my blush cropped tee with high-waisted skinny jeans in an antique blue rinse. To add some interest, I rolled up the cuffs of my t-shirt, and tucked the front into a loose, casual, half-tuck. I also rolled up the cuffs of my jeans to echo the styling of the tee, and for a more laid-back warm weather vibe. Easy-peasy!

  1. A brown crossbody (Ralph Lauren, old)
  2. Floral sneakers (Keds x Rifle Paper Co.)
  3. A brown belt (So old I don’t remember where it came from!)
  4. A dainty gold necklace (Madewell)
  5. A blush watch (Berg+Betts)
  6. Vintage inspired sunglasses (Madewell)

Because jeans and a tee are pretty simple on their own, I added quite a few accessories to this look for a little more personality. I started with a brown belt to pull together the top and bottom of the outfit, and added a matching brown crossbody bag. I love warmer neutral shades for my accessories as the weather warms up, and it was fun to pull this little bag back out! The bag features gold hardware which coordinated perfectly with my blush and gold watch. This piece is not only pretty, but super functional for a busy day. I finished off my jewelry with my favorite dainty necklace, threw on my floral sneakers, and topped off the look with my favorite sunglasses.

This look was perfect for a morning working taking care of children and visiting with their mamas. It also took me to the car repair place, Target, Whole Foods, and the craft store. I love how comfortable it was for being on my feet and running a lot of errands. It would also be perfect for casual weekend coffee dates or family activities. I’m planning to wear it again many times!

And there you have it for look number 5! I’ll be back on Monday with look 6, and I also plan to have a weekender post up for you over the weekend!

  1. For a day of errands, I pretty much wear exactly what you’re wearing! Skinny jeans that aren’t too skinny that they feel tight on my leg, an unfussy tee, my 100 year old tretorns (or keds) (exaggeration), and the same shades (which my boyfriend got me for my bday). Oh, and either my black or cognac vintage leather crossbodies (both by Coach)
