Happy Monday friends! I ended up taking a little break from blogging over the weekend, and enjoyed some wonderful family time over the Easter holiday. I hope you were all able to get a little relaxing in as well! I have to admit I’ve been snacking on leftover Easter cookies with my cup of tea as I type up this blog post. 😉 Today I’m back with look 6 in my spring 10×10 challenge, and even braved a bit of rain to get some photos of the look. Today’s look is simple (surprise, surprise!), but could easily have a more dressed up feel with a few tweaks. As it stands, it’s a perfect work option for me, but could easily go out to lunch or the movies.
And who said little black dresses are just for evening?
A little black wrap dress (Margu, this dress is from their last collection, but be sure to check out their spring line.)
A denim jacket (ThredUp, similar options here)
On Mondays, and in particular rainy Mondays, I like to keep it simple. Getting out of my PJ’s is usually the last thing I want to do on a dreary morning, so I’m all about pieces that are easy to throw on like a simple dress. This silk number by Margu is a perfect work dress when paired with a jacket, and it has pockets! I layered on my denim jacket both to dress it down, and to add a layer of warmth since it cooled off a little in Little Rock today. I love the combination of the floaty silk dress and more structured denim jacket.
Black scalloped sandals (Club Monaco, Loeffler Randall brand)
A vintage crossbody (Vintage Coach via Dear Golden Vintage, similar vintage Coach, all vintage coach on Etsy)
A polka dot umbrella (Purchased at Target almost 10 years ago!)
Once again, today was all about simplicity. I recently got these cute scalloped sandals from Club Monaco, and I love how they look with dresses. The scalloped detail lends a sweet vintage-inspired touch that ties in perfectly with my vintage bag. I skipped jewelry today, but did make sure to grab my umbrella. I bought this umbrella when I went on a mission trip as a teenager, and somehow it’s still not broken!
Today was fairly low-key involving teaching as usual, and some work on my YouTube channel at home. I love this look for teaching because it’s comfortable while I’m on my feet, but still feels cute and pulled together. To dress this look up a bit, I’d lose the jacket, and add a pretty necklace to take it from the classroom out to dinner. Easy as can be.
Well friends, the challenge will be over before we know it, and I’ll be back tomorrow with look 7. I’m curious to know if you enjoy this volume of outfit posts. I’ve realized that, although it’s time consuming to put these together, I can definitely do it much more often than I have in the past! Let me know how often you’d like to see them!
