Hi friends! I’m feeling pretty darn tired for it to be so early in the week, but I’m back with another installment in my 10×10 challenge! Today’s look is casually romantic, and a lot of fun. I can never wear this top without thinking about the puffy shirt Seinfeld episode, but that just makes me love it more. I’ve learned another lesson while working on this challenge: keep up with laundry! Today I swapped my jeans for a different pair because I just haven’t gotten them washed! It’s my first cheat of the 10×10, but I’m okay with it. Enough with the intro;
Let’s chat casual romantic style.
A Victorian inspired top (ThredUp, similar)
High-waisted jeans (Target, old)
I purchased this French Connection brand blouse last summer from ThredUp, and I love it! It is definitely romantic, but feels fresh and summery when paired with jeans. The embroidered details and billowy sleeves are so much fun. I love it with high-waisted jeans for a 1970s inspired look. Because this top is such a statement on it’s own, I kept the rest of the look fairly minimal.
Black scalloped sandals (Club Monaco)
A vintage crossbody (Vintage Coach via Dear Golden Vintage)
A blush watch (Berg + Betts)
To accessorize this look I added my scalloped sandals and black crossbody. They are easy pieces, but bring a sense of cohesiveness to the look. I also added on my blush watch for both style and practicality since today was a work day. Since my outfit consists of such simple pieces, I spent a bit of extra time on my hair adding a romantic twist to the front section. A swipe of Charlotte Tilbury Bond Girl lipstick, and this look feels vintage, feminine, and romantic without seeming overdone.
Today’s activities ranged from teaching to going out for coffee in the evening, and this look was definitely practical. Once again, I did take along my denim jacket for work since it tones down the statement top, and gives me a place to clip my badge. I do prefer the look sans jacket though, with the puffy shirt in its full glory. As usual, it was an easy practical look, but I love the element of vintage inspiration in this one.
We’re down to the final three looks, and I have to admit I’m looking forward to having my full closet again, but for now, stay tuned for look 8!
