Style Files #3: Alexa Chung

Alexa Chung StyleIf you follow me on Pinterest, you have probably noticed that I love Alexa Chung. Her hair, her makeup, and her style are all pretty much perfect to me, and I’m constantly finding outfit and beauty inspiration from her. Remember when I first chopped my hair over a year ago? Yep, that was definitely Alexa influenced!

You may only know Chung as the woman who wrote that little pink book every blogger ever seems to have, and since I was right there with you for a long time, here is a little more information about her. Alexa Chung is not only a writer of that pink book and someone with amazing style, but also a contributing editor for British Vogue and model. She is known for her distinctive personal style that inspires many fashion designers. She has done collaborations with brands such as Madewell, and one of my favorite projects she has been apart of is British Vogue’s YouTube series called The Future of Fashion, hosted by Alexa herself. In this series she explores the fashion industry for curious viewers as well as those interested in a future career in fashion.

I like to think of her look as classic with a tomboy flair and a nod to the 1960s. Key elements that make up her style include stripes, a line skirts, boxy tops, camel colored outerwear, vintage inspired dresses, and a great 60s inspired makeup. Lisa Eldridge has done a wonderful set of makeup tutorials staring Alexa if you are looking to recreate her look!

Who is inspiring your style right now? Do you have a style icon that you always come back to for inspiration? I’d love to hear!
