Summer Knitting

summer-knitting-3 summer-knittingI love knitting, but come summertime, it doesn’t always feel like the most seasonally appropriate activity. This year, however, I’ve started a project that I feel is still doable in spite of the hot weather. I’m working on a fun bright colored pair of socks! I had this pretty aqua yarn in my stash, and came across the perfect pattern for it in an issue of Mollie Makes. The bright color and the compact size of the project make it perfect for this time of year. It’s perfect for curling up with in the evenings, and I’m excited to finish the socks. I think the small size keeps it from feeling to warm and stuffy for toasty summer nights.

This pattern is really fun to stitch up! The entire back of the socks continues in a ribbed pattern which keeps things interesting, and I love the french knot polka dots that are added in the end. I’ll be sure to report back when I finish these!

You can find the pattern on Ravelry here.

Are you guys working on any fun projects right now? Do you knit? If so, do you keep it up in the summer? Thanks so much for visiting today, and have a great Monday!

  1. I used to knit when I was younger (9 or 10), and I’ve been wanting to pick it up again ~ it’s on my to-do list this summer! 🙂 These socks look like they’ll be adorable! I love the color!

  2. Those socks are so cute, and the color you chose is perfect. I do try to keep knitting during the summer to stock up my Etsy shop, but sometimes it’s a struggle because of the weather. 😛

  3. That yarn is gorgeous! I have several projects going on right now. My favorite are the Aragorn Socks on Ravelry. They have twisted stitches which turned out to be soooo easy to do and they look absolutely fantastic. We’ll see how things go when I get to the heel, though. I’ve never done socks before.
