It’s the second to last day of my spring 10×10 style challenge, and today I’m sharing another casual look. As I mentioned last week, Thursday’s are all about comfort and ease for me, and today was no exception. Even though this outfit is comprised of very basic pieces, I love the classic feel it has. It’s the kind of thing that is definitely laid back, but still has a touch of elegance. I have to admit I did find myself itching to wear a different top then those I chose for my challenge, but I stuck with it, and I’m happy with the result. Plus it’s just one more day until I get to play around with every piece in my closet!
April showers can’t stop this style challenge! The spring 10×10 is well under way, and today I’m sharing my second look. I combined three of my ten pieces for a rainy day of my usual activities. This combination is a tried and true one for me that I find myself reaching for fairly often during the workweek. It has a bit of polish, but is still laid back which I love. This outfit combines three of my favorite things: stripes, neutrals, and denim, so for me, it’s a win win win.

One of my favorite things to wear, hands down, is a little black dress. They are versatile, and make me feel a little bit fancy, even during the day. Often times when I recommend the addition of an LBD to a capsule wardrobe, I get responses to the effect of “I don’t really go out very much,” so today I want to share my tips for making the most of the wardrobe’s queen of versatility. I’m excited to be working with Margu Design on today’s blog post, and I’ll share more about Margu shortly.

I’ve never been one for carrying a huge bag full of stuff, and the more I’ve decluttered my life, the less I’ve been carrying around with me. Today I thought it would be fun to show you what I bring with me day to day, and how I utilize my collection of small crossbody bags. At the risk of completely discrediting myself, I’ll tell you that I do also typically have a ridiculous collection of receipts in the bottom of my bag, but for the sake of this post, I went through those and got rid of most of them. 😉 The bag I’m showing you today is my vintage 1980s Coach Regina. It’s the bag I find myself using the most for it’s versatility and convenience.
My handbag essentials:
I recently shared how I want to experiment with more minimal outfits while wearing my winter capsule wardrobe (coming soon, by the way! I’m waiting on one more item to arrive!) For me, part of experimenting with clean and minimal looks means learning how to accessorize better. There are so many people who accessorize effortlessly, but I’m just not one of them. I struggle to make things look purposeful and laid back, so this season I’ve chosen a few pieces to focus on. Hopefully by the end of winter, I’ll be more confident in my skills with accessories. This season I’ll be specifically focusing on scarves and handbags.
