Hi friends! I’ve recently started sharing a few sewing tutorials over on the YouTube channel, and I thought I’d start to post them here on the blog as well. Several of you have expressed interest in learning how to sew or in getting back into making your own clothes, so I hope you find these videos helpful and inspiring! Today’s project? A pleated midi skirt! This particular skirt was inspired by one I saw at Club Monaco a while back, and I love how it turned out. There is no pattern required, and it would be a great beginning project.
Cleanse, Treat, Hydrate.
I’ve been dealing with some stressed skin over the passed couple of months. I have sensitive acne prone skin, which is an interesting skin type to create a routine for. Most products formulated for break-outs aren’t formulated for sensitive skin, and vice versa. Thankfully, after a lot of trial and error, I’ve found different natural ways to manage my skin type and keep it in check. Today I have two products and two ingredients to share with you that I love to use when I’m dealing with breakouts and redness.
I love YouTube. One of my favorite ways to chill out after work is to make a good cup of tea or coffee, and sit down to catch up on my favorite channels. When I first started to get into the YouTube world, most of the channels I watched focused primarily on makeup and skincare, but over the past couple of years, I’ve come to love channels that focus on personal style. I love the creativity that goes into each video, and I always walk away with inspiration for new ways to wear the items in my closet. Since fashion channels are a little more difficult to come across, today I’m rounding up my four current favorites.
You might want to make more room in your schedule.
Christmas is coming oh-so quickly, and today I’m excited to share a fun DIY gift wrap tutorial with you! I recently became aware that most gift wrap is not recyclable, and I wanted to come up with a beautiful way to present gifts that can still be recycled. I came up with this super cute gold polka dotted paper, and it’s so easy to make! All you need is an old grocery bag (I used Whole Foods which is a great size,) and a metallic gold paint pen. You can really customize this paper to be your own unique style, and I love that it’s made from a recycled material and can be recycled again– plus it’s just so pretty!
Grab your crafting supplies and Christmas gifts, and let’s get wrapping!
I love mixing up natural skincare products using amazing ingredients. It’s kind of like my grown-up version of a really fun science experiment. Summer often leaves me with pretty dry lips, so when I found myself mixing up a quick lip scrub, I thought I would share my recipe with you guys! I’ve tried Lush’s popular lip scrub, and honestly, I prefer to make my own. Using the basic base of coconut oil and sugar, you can add any of your favorite scents and customize the recipe to suit you. Rosewater is a favorite for me, so that’s what I’ve mixed up here, and I think it complements the light fragrance of the coconut oil nicely.
