Feeling content and creative with your wardrobe all at once is pretty wonderful, and I’m getting just that feeling from my fall capsule wardrobe! I shared in my recent post all about my planning process that I wanted to bring it back to the basics and sprinkle in some fun this season, and I think this way of planning has worked really well for me. The resulting 23 piece capsule is versatile, practical, and makes me feel like me. In my book, that makes it a success! Read on to watch my capsule wardrobe video and to shop my autumn capsule!
Well friends, it’s Halloween, there’s finally a chill in the air that seems to be here to stay, and it’s time for me to switch over my wardrobe for autumn. Yesterday I made the last purchase for my fall closet, and I’m so excited to share this capsule wardrobe with you once that piece arrives. Over the summer I began to feel like I was in a strange place with my style, and wearing a hodge-podge of pieces that didn’t feel like me 100% of the time. With this in mind, I have approached the new season with a healthy dose of mindfulness and a ruthless wardrobe edit. Let’s chat about how I went about the process.
Today is the first day that it actually feels like fall in my city. It’s crisp, cloudy, and blustery outside, and inside, I’m thinking about all things fall wardrobe. This year I’m striving to go back to basics with my fall capsule, and I want to take you along with me. I’m paring things down, making sure everything works together cohesively, and being mindful about new purchases. As I’ve worked through the process of getting my closet in order for the new season, I’ve been thinking a lot about the building blocks of my fall wardrobe. These are the classic pieces I wear year after year, and when they wear out I purchase them in a new iteration. I’ve come up with a list of five classic pieces I love for the autumn season. These could be adapted in so many ways to suit your own personal style, and I hope this list is a helpful start to building your fall wardrobe.
Happy Monday friends! I’m starting to plan for my fall capsule wardrobe, even though the weather has gone back up to summer-esque proportions this week. I recently pulled all of my autumn clothing out of storage, and began to evaluate what I wanted to keep, get rid of, and purchase for the new season. Unfortunately a few of my pieces were attacked by some moths with expensive taste, so I’m anticipating having to replace a few more pieces than usual. While I’ll be thrifting and sewing several items, I also want to purchase from a few ethical brands this fall, both so that I can try them out, and so I can share my experiences with you. Here are some of the pieces I’m eyeing for autumn!
