I love YouTube. One of my favorite ways to chill out after work is to make a good cup of tea or coffee, and sit down to catch up on my favorite channels. When I first started to get into the YouTube world, most of the channels I watched focused primarily on makeup and skincare, but over the past couple of years, I’ve come to love channels that focus on personal style. I love the creativity that goes into each video, and I always walk away with inspiration for new ways to wear the items in my closet. Since fashion channels are a little more difficult to come across, today I’m rounding up my four current favorites.
Well friends, another weekend is here, and I’m spending it trying to get over a cold which means lots of ginger tea and quiet work. Despite being ill, I can’t say I’m mad about it! I got back from Chicago late Wednesday night, and can’t wait to share all of the content I shot while I was traveling– I even tried my hand at creating a travel and outfit vlog that I’ll be posting to my YouTube channel soon! Life has been pretty quiet this week since I’m a teacher, and it’s spring break. I’m grateful for the opportunity to rest and recover, and I’m looking forward to being back to working with my students on Monday.
But for now, it’s time for another round of weekend links!
Finding my personal style has been tricky over the year because I love so many different styles aesthetically. Recently, however, I had an interesting realization. I had just gotten home from running errands and was wearing a pretty standard casual outfit for me: jeans, a striped tee, and a jacket. After hanging up my green jacket, I walked by a mirror and happened to think to myself that I really liked what I was wearing: my jeans and my striped shirt with a simple gold necklace. Here’s what I realized: I feel 10 times more confident and myself in a more minimal and neutral outfit right now. This felt surprising to the girl who loves floral prints and unique colors, but it gave me an idea.
For the duration of my winter capsule wardrobe, I am going to experiment with wearing what I would call “minimalist style.”
Simple outfits, a subtle color palette, and clean lines.
I’m starting out the year here on the blog with a decluttering series! Recently I’ve been learning more about minimizing through various resources, and I’ve felt inspired to try and reduce the clutter in my life. Today we’re starting out with my beauty stash, one of the most cluttered areas of my life. It was full of things I didn’t get value out of, and it felt so good to reduce the number of items in my collection. I filmed the decluttering process for you, so you can get a good idea of how I go through these little decisions.
Grab a cuppa, and get inspired!
If you follow me on Pinterest, you have probably noticed that I love Alexa Chung. Her hair, her makeup, and her style are all pretty much perfect to me, and I’m constantly finding outfit and beauty inspiration from her. Remember when I first chopped my hair over a year ago? Yep, that was definitely Alexa influenced!
