This 10×10 challenge is quickly coming to an end, and I’ve had so much fun mixing up my wardrobe over the past two weeks! I’m back today with look 8, and this look is one of my personal favorites so far. It’s the kind of thing I can totally see myself wearing while wondering around a European city (I’ve got a mild case of wanderlust,) but it lends a touch of European elegance to my everyday life. At its root, this outfit is basically just a good old-fashioned jeans and tee combo, but the design and cut of each piece make it more interesting, and it looks like it took much more effort than it did.
Happy Wednesday friends! I’m back with my third look for the spring 10×10 style challenge, hosted by Lee from Style Bee and Caroline from Unfancy! You can check out the ten pieces I chose by clicking here. As I keep on moving with this challenge, I am realizing how easy it is for me to get stuck in a style rut. Mixing up just a few items is challenging, but it’s injecting a much needed dose of creativity into what I wear day-to-day. Today’s look is the first to repeat items, borrowing the top half of the outfit from look no. 1. In spite of the similarities between the two looks, this ensemble feels fresh to me, and I love the accessories.
Ivory wide leg trousers + blush pink = oh-so spring appropriate!
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and even though I’ve always been a single lady on a day celebrating romance, I can’t help but love it. I get caught up in all things red, pink, and pretty, and I love the excuse to hang out with some of my favorite gal-pals. For today’s look, I wanted to show you how I created a Valentine’s appropriate outfit from my capsule. Including one or two statement pieces in your wardrobe can help to stretch it across special occasions and events. And read on to the end of the post for my Valentine’s Day shopping guide, full of all kinds of pretty things from cruelty free lip colors to made in America frocks.
Bring on the pink, and of course, some black.

Hey friends! Thank you all so much for all of the sweet tweets and comments you sent me for my birthday! It really did make my day to have all of you celebrating with me this year! I had an absolutely fantastic and fun day, and this is the outfit I chose to wear for it!
When I got my Paper Crown X Rifle Paper Co. top, I knew I wanted to save it for my birthday! I dug around in my closet, and ran across this old thrifted Banana Republic cardigan that matched perfectly. To toughen up the the femininity of the top, I paired it with my favorite cropped jeans from LOFT. They are super comfy and have just a bit of distressing that makes any outfit a little bit more casual. For my accessories, I kept it simple with ballet flats from Target and my Ralph Lauren cross-body bag.
Birthday celebrations included breakfast with my dad, lunch with my mom, a lovely at home dinner with my family and best friend, peanut butter chocolate cake, the most thoughtful gifts in the world, watching How to Steal a Million, a phone call from my brother, watching Friends, and tea and coffee. It was perfect.
I’m in the process of planning posts for the next month, and would love for you guys to leave comments with what you would like to see!
Thank you so much for all the love, and have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂
Contrary to what my blog may lead you to believe, I don’t live my life in cute vintage styled dresses everyday. More often than not, I’m in a basic uniform of jeans, a knit top or chambray shirt, flat shoes, and a cross-body bag. It’s a super easy, comfortable, and casual look that still looks a little bit put together.

When I saw Deer & Doe’s free t-shirt pattern, I immediately knew I wanted to make it. It’s the kind of style I could always use more of in my wardrobe. I made my first version in cute green and navy polka dotted knit, and I love the result. Here I’ve paired it with a chambray top, my most comfy skinny jeans, and my favorite summer sandals. It makes the perfect biking outfit!
My bike is from Papillionaire, and it is my baby. Papillionaire makes the most beautiful vintage inspired bicycles, and I love mine. It is the Mixte style which is the perfect combination of style and function in my book.
I finally managed to get my hair trimmed this week, and I’m so happy to have it back at this length!
I hope you enjoyed seeing a sewing project and a casual outfit in one post! What are you all up to this weekend? Thanks so much for stopping by today! 😀
