Friends! It’s time for the very last look in my spring 10×10 style challenge! This has been such a fun creative exercise for me, but I’m so excited to have my full closet to pick from again tomorrow. I love how this challenge has pushed me to try new ways to wear the items in my closet, and today’s look is one of my favorite new combinations. It’s made of up of two pieces I would never have thought to put together outside of the 10×10 restrictions, and I love how it looks. The combination of a fitted top and full skirt is a nod to some of my favorite vintage looks,
Well friends, we’re on day four of the 10×10 challenge, and I’m starting to feel a bit more adventurous with my outfits! Today’s is a pretty great example of that, so much so that when I saw my dad on Wednesday evening, he asked me whether or not the top and skirt actually work together. 😉 I’m going with yes. Yes they do. Since today’s look makes quite a statement on its own, I didn’t do much in the way of accessorizing, but I love how the look came together, and I’m excited to tell you about it. I also made a couple of adjustment for work, which I’ll talk about more near the end of this post in case you are curious.
Floral print and stripes together? Why yes!
Happy Monday friends! To kick off the Chicago posts, today I’m sharing what I wore while I was traveling. I like to keep things pretty minimal when I’m away, and for this trip I ended up packing 13 pieces of clothing. It gave me a lot of options to choose from, but still let me just take a carry-on bag, because who wants to stand in the check-in line? For travel I like to stick to a few basics that I know will be comfortable and easy to wear, and I also like to throw in a fun piece or two to mix things up. Staples in my travel wardrobe include stretchy jeans, striped tees, comfy sweaters, sneakers, and a crossbody bag. Read on to the end to find my Chicago travel vlog which features three more outfits!

It’s the weekend friends, and I’m soaking in all I can of this lazy, sunny Saturday. My week was busy, full teaching, working, and spending time with friends and family, and of course, drinking a lot of coffee. I’m spending my weekend preparing for Monday night’s event, working on some fun projects I’ll be sharing soon, and playing the music from La La Land. It makes for a pretty great weekend afternoon, and I’m grateful for this time to recharge and work on my personal projects! As usual, I have some links for you this weekend listed bellow. Also, if you’re planning on coming to the Galentine’s Day event, I’d love to hear!
From how to wash silk to where to buy a Valentine’s card, this week’s links have got you covered.
Happy weekend, once again, friends! This weekend my schedule is pretty jam packed as I get ready for a local Christmas concert I’m playing in next week. We are running seven shows, which means busy evenings and long rehearsals, but I love the festive hum of being involved in a holiday concert. Between work and the show, I’m hoping to make time for festive activities like decorating, making treats with my sisters, reading by the fire, knitting along to a Christmas movie, and playing my favorite holiday records. Here’s to a full but fun week!
Since this is my first holiday season since I finished university, my goal has been to plan ahead to really enjoy the season. When I was in college, Christmas shopping didn’t happen until vacation started which was the week of Christmas day. The rush of coming home and getting everything done made the season a bit more stressful than I would like, so this year, I’ve already nearly finished with my shopping, and have my activities planned out to make the most of my favorite time of year. Hooray for progress!
