Happy Saturday friends! I’m excited to be back with another outfit, and today’s is one of my current favorites. It’s oh-so comfortable, but has a classic vintage-inspired feel which you know I love. Lately I’ve been playing around with styling some of my favorite dresses as skirts to help me stretch my wardrobe even further, and of all of the combinations I’ve come up with so far, this is the one I’ve come back to the most.
I’ve never been the girl who is super into handbags, but I know what I like, and I’ve collected a few bags that I love and that work for me. I like to think of the three bags I’m sharing today as my handbag capsule wardrobe, because they work with everything in my closet for a variety of different occasions. I love small bags with cross body straps because I don’t want to be worrying about my bag whenever I’m out and about. They keep my essentials secure and close at hand which I love. My handbag capsule includes two everyday bags as well as one that’s a little dressier. Read on to see my bags, and to find some great ethical handbag brands!
I think I’m a little too excited for fall, because it was definitely way too hot to be wearing this outfit yesterday, but my mind was so much in autumn-mode that I went for it anyway. 😉 I met up with the lovely Lee from Lee Thrifts, and she introduced me to the cutest handmade popsicle/ice cream bar shop down in The Heights. If you’re in the Little Rock area, Le Pops is adorable and super good!
Happy Friday friends! I’ve officially made it through my first week as a piano teacher, and I’m looking forward to the weekend! As August draws to a close and we near September, I find myself itching for fall. Autumn is my favorite season, and I’m so excited for it to arrive. I’m ready for fall candles, clothes, and plenty of spiced cider. As much as I’m looking forward to autumn, I’m trying to embrace the end of summer.
This maxi dress has been one of my favorite pieces all summer long, and lately I’ve been styling it to reflect the changing seasons. I love pairing it with my denim jacket so some contrast, as well as my little black suede lace-up flats. The addition of my favorite Madewell necklace and my already on repeat vintage bag complete the look. Today I also paired a lipstick I traditionally wear in the fall with a more summery face and eye look, and I love the way it compliments the outfit.
So two things led to me adding a piece to my capsule: a little obsession with the Victoriana trend, and some ThredUp credits. I’m in love with this gauzy breezy embroidered blouse, and it’s got just enough Victorian detail for me. The cotton is super light and thin, and it’s so comfortable in the hot summer weather. You guys know I’m all about a juxtaposition of styles, so I love this blouson top with undone hair contrasting with crisp cropped jeans, a structured bag, and my favorite studded flats. I seriously can’t get enough of these shoes. I brought a little color into the look with a slightly bolder lipstick which I’m loving right now.
Speaking of juxtaposition of styles, I think cities embody this idea perfectly, and that inspires me in my outfits. A perfect example is the combination of structured Victorian buildings and loose and wild rose gardens. I love it when life inspires fashion.
