As much as I love beauty routines, one area I often overlook is a classic manicure. As a nearly life-long pianist and violinist, I’ve never payed too much attention to my hands or nails, other than to make sure my nails were trimmed short. One thing that has always been a plague for me is dry skin on my hands and around my nails, but recently I’ve come up with a solution that’s helping thanks to a beautiful product from L’Occitane, the sponsor of this blog post.
This year in my gift guide series, I wanted to include a segment on beauty gifts that include cruelty free, sustainable, and natural options. I always love giving and receiving beauty products, so today I’m sharing some of my favorite beauty gifts for the holiday season. The world of beauty products can be a bit overwhelming in it’s volume, so I’ve compiled some amazing items from across different categories for you to peruse.
These products have the luxury factor and are beautiful without being harmful!
It’s that time of year again! Every November the Sephora VIB sale hits, and this year I’m carrying my new found love for natural and cruelty free beauty products into the sale. There are overwhelming numbers of makeup and skincare products available at Sephora, so today I thought I’d create a guide for shopping the sale in a kinder and safer way. I’ll be sharing some products that are staples in my beauty routine as well as a few that may be making their way into my shopping cart this week.
One of my favorite parts of Sephora’s rewards program is the birthday reward they give out during birthday months. This year’s is especially great- two mini NARS lip pencils, one satin, and one matte! The satin finish pencil is a more neutral shade, and the matte shade is more bold, so there is a lot of variety in this set.
I picked mine up last time I went to Sephora, and have been loving both colors!
Rikugien is a lovely rose color with a touch of brown. It has a glossy finish, and is so comfortable and easy to wear. I was also surprised by the lasting power of this pencil, and how much it seemed to hydrate my lips. It’s definitely a winner!
Cruella is a stunning matte deep red, similar to one of my favorite lipsticks, MAC’s Russian Red. I had heard several people talk about this shade, so I was doubly excited to try it, and I love it! It is so easy to apply for a bold color, and I love that it isn’t too dry feeling like so many matte lip colors.
Are you a member of Sephora’s rewards program? Have you gotten your birthday reward yet this year? If so, what were your thoughts?
