Hi friends! I’ve recently started sharing a few sewing tutorials over on the YouTube channel, and I thought I’d start to post them here on the blog as well. Several of you have expressed interest in learning how to sew or in getting back into making your own clothes, so I hope you find these videos helpful and inspiring! Today’s project? A pleated midi skirt! This particular skirt was inspired by one I saw at Club Monaco a while back, and I love how it turned out. There is no pattern required, and it would be a great beginning project.
Each year when the weather warms up, my style goes through a shift towards all things flowing, billowy, ruffled, and romantic. Sizzling summer days conjure up visions of 1970s music festivals and the Victorian revival styles that have always had a place in my heart. My more minimal basics move to the back of the wardrobe to make way for white lace blouses, floral dresses, and flowing maxi skirts. And speaking of flowing maxi skirts, let’s talk about the lilac-hued number I’m wearing in this post!
Happy Saturday friends! I’m excited to be back with another outfit, and today’s is one of my current favorites. It’s oh-so comfortable, but has a classic vintage-inspired feel which you know I love. Lately I’ve been playing around with styling some of my favorite dresses as skirts to help me stretch my wardrobe even further, and of all of the combinations I’ve come up with so far, this is the one I’ve come back to the most.

It’s been a good long time since I’ve done an outfit post! I recently got this beautiful pleated midi skirt and it has become a fast favorite. It even has pockets! This outfits is one of my winter uniforms: skirt + sweater + tights + boots = a warm and pretty combination. I scored these cute little oxford boots recently and am pretty much in love with them.
I hope your year is off to a great start! I’ve been spending a lot of time curled up with a book and a cup of tea, but today I ventured out to do a little post Christmas gift card spending.
I’m hoping to be able to do some more outfit posts this year. Let me know if you would like them to be a regular feature!
