Floral card: Rifle Paper Co.
Letter writing has been something I’ve loved since I could first wield a pencil as a kid. Since I moved across the country at age eight, I had friends back at home that I wanted to keep in contact with. I remember my mom telling me I should write them letters so that we could stay friends over the years, so as an eight-year-old, I began writing to a few friends from home. Fast-forward 15 years, and today you’ll still find me writing letters and notes!
About a year ago I came across the prettiest and most inspiring Instagram account I had ever seen, and it belonged to Hayley Solano! Her whole aesthetic was so romantic and beautiful, and I was smitten with it. I also discovered the amazing songs that she writes and records, and couldn’t stop listening to them! We quickly realized through Instagram that we had very similar taste and shared a love of things like music, Anthropologie browsing, embroidery, and tea parties. She was nice enough to send me a lovely letter in the mail, and since then we’ve written and Snapchatted back-and-forth! It’s been so fun to become friends through the online world and through letter writing, even though we’ve never met! There’s something so magical about putting thoughts down in a letter and sending it off.
Hi friends, and happy March! Can you believe it’s already March? I’m certainly glad that it’s here and that spring is on its way!
Over the past year I’ve been making an effort to be more organized, and specifically to use my planner more efficiently. I’m now that girl who is guilty of watching planning videos on YouTube for far longer than anyone really should. Today I thought I’d share some of the things I use with my planner to help me stay organized, and let’s face it, to keep my planner looking pretty. 😉
I’ve never dealt with a hatred for Valentine’s Day as a single person- I just use it as excuse to embrace everything pink, floral, and Victorian. Also I may or may not eat a lot of chocolate. I love the excuse to send something handmade to people I love, and today I’m sharing some of my ideas for handmade cards!
I love writing notes, and I especially love writing notes on cute stationary. I’ve done a cheeky bit of paper good shopping lately and thought I would share some of my favorite finds with you today! My love of the Rifle Paper Company is obvious from both my blog and Instagram, so I’m sure the fact that most of these things came from them will come as no surprise.
I’ve admired this sticker set from Rifle Paper Co. for a long time now, so when they ran a recent promotion I jumped at the chance to order them. I also ordered their Paper Crown collaboration card set…I’ve ooed and awed over the clothes, but the cards fit my budget much better. 😉 I love each of the illustrations, and the variety of occasions the cards can be used for. The set came with two of each design, and I kind of want to frame a few of them. Finally, the little polka dotted cards came from Target, and are just so cute. I love the mix of kraft paper and crisp white. They are perfect for all kinds of notes, and I think they look darling with the stickers from Rifle.
I think note writing is such a wonderful lost art. Do any of you write cards or letters? Do you have a favorite place for stationary? I’d love to hear!
