Last month my family took a road trip out to Arizona to spend some time with family. We all met in Sedona, Arizona, a place I loved visiting growing up, and spent a few days at a house my aunt had rented. The scenery in Sedona was amazing, and we enjoyed exploring the town. We also took an afternoon to stop by The Grand Canyon, something that blows my mind each time I see it. Near the end of the week we drove over to the Palm Springs area in California (where I grew up!) and I was able to spend a day there before flying back home to get back to work.

Travel Diary: London, England

london-travel-photography-blogTea, Rain, & Architecture.

The last couple of days of our international travels were spent in London. We took the Eurostar from Paris to London, and enjoyed a quiet two days drinking lots of tea, exploring the touristy buildings, and even getting caught in a rainstorm, an event that felt quintessentially British. This was my second time in London, and I absolutely loved it. The first time I visited, it didn’t impress itself on my memory the way Paris did, but now six years later, I may just prefer it. While London is a bustling city, in comparison with Paris, at least to me, it feels like a quiet breath of fresh air. One thing I love about travel is how much it teaches me about myself, and as I’ve had the opportunity to revisit these different places, I’ve learned that now I’m much more drawn to quiet reserved charm than sparkle and glamour.

Travel Diary: Paris, France

From Versailles to Ladurée, our time in Paris was so fun and magical, and I’m so excited to share it with you. Get ready– this is a picture heavy post!

Travel Diary: Lucerne & Grindelwald, Switzerland

IMG_9872A Family Tradition

Ask most members of my family what their favorite country to visit is, and they will likely answer with an enthusiastic “Switzerland!” While I have a hard time choosing a favorite, Switzerland has a special place in my heart. My grandfather coordinated travel groups to Europe back in the 70s, and when my dad graduated college, they took a trip to Switzerland. Now my dad has continued to pass down that love of travel by taking me and my siblings on a similar trip when we graduated high-school. Traveling to Europe is something we all love, and you’ll often find us sharing stories of different trips and countries. I’m convinced my Grandy has been everywhere, and I love to listen to his travel tales. A favorite town for all of us is Grindelwald, but on our way there, we often stop in Lucerne. I feel so fortunate to have been twice now!

Travel Diary: Lago Maggiore, Italy

On the Water

I’m finally back with another installment in my travel diary series, and this time we’re back in Italy! After leaving Venice, we drove over to a beautiful spot in northern Italy on the south side of the Alps: Lago (lake) Maggiore. Lago Maggiore was a lovely quiet contrast to the hustle and bustle of Venice, and it was wonderful to experience the more laid-back side of Italy. We were lucky enough to have a hotel right on the lake, and the outdoor dining area had the most serene view.
