It’s the weekend, and I’m excited about it! This week marked my first full week back at teaching, and I’m enjoying getting settled into a routine. It’s so fun to have so many of the same students back this year, and I can’t wait to watch how they grow as pianists. Apart from teaching, I’ve been working on one of my new year’s resolutions this week. I set myself the goal of completing 10 days of The Miracle Morning, which involves a 5 a.m. wake-up time. Right now I’ve finished two days, and although it’s been a challenge to get myself up early, I’m really enjoying the extra quiet morning hours. It’s also helping me get through my reading list, and I’m loving that. This weekend I’m planning to work on a sewing project, (hopefully for a new video tutorial on Sunday!) do more reading, and maybe pay a visit to my favorite local park for a walk with coffee.
Cheers to the Weekend!
Happy weekend friends! As I looked back through my blog post archives recently, I noticed that the last time I published The Weekender was back in April! This summer I’ve struggled to keep up with normal routines, but as we approach fall, I’m ready for routine again, starting with blogging routines. If you’re new around here, The Weekender is a weekly collection of my favorite links from around the web as well as a little catch-up on what I’ve been up to over the past week.
Well friends, another weekend is here, and I’m spending it trying to get over a cold which means lots of ginger tea and quiet work. Despite being ill, I can’t say I’m mad about it! I got back from Chicago late Wednesday night, and can’t wait to share all of the content I shot while I was traveling– I even tried my hand at creating a travel and outfit vlog that I’ll be posting to my YouTube channel soon! Life has been pretty quiet this week since I’m a teacher, and it’s spring break. I’m grateful for the opportunity to rest and recover, and I’m looking forward to being back to working with my students on Monday.
But for now, it’s time for another round of weekend links!
Happy weekend, once again, friends! This weekend my schedule is pretty jam packed as I get ready for a local Christmas concert I’m playing in next week. We are running seven shows, which means busy evenings and long rehearsals, but I love the festive hum of being involved in a holiday concert. Between work and the show, I’m hoping to make time for festive activities like decorating, making treats with my sisters, reading by the fire, knitting along to a Christmas movie, and playing my favorite holiday records. Here’s to a full but fun week!
Since this is my first holiday season since I finished university, my goal has been to plan ahead to really enjoy the season. When I was in college, Christmas shopping didn’t happen until vacation started which was the week of Christmas day. The rush of coming home and getting everything done made the season a bit more stressful than I would like, so this year, I’ve already nearly finished with my shopping, and have my activities planned out to make the most of my favorite time of year. Hooray for progress!
Some links for the weekend
It’s Saturday morning, and I’m tucked up with a blanket, a cup of tea, and of course my laptop. This past week was wonderful and busy as usual, full of work and family. I’m so happy that there’s a chill in the air this weekend. My sister and brother are in town, and my sister and I are planning to do some shopping for home decor. I’m on the lookout for any mercury glass nick-knacks I can find!
