-some of my favorite Instagrams from July-
Hi everyone! Can you believe that it is August? It seems like it has been a long time since I’ve written one of these monthly posts, and yet I am still having trouble processing the fact that the year is more than halfway behind us. Before I get into my July recap, I’m excited to announce the winner of the ModCloth giveaway! The winner is…
Congratulations dear! I’ll be emailing you with your prize soon! Also, thank you to every single person who entered the giveaways and participated in my birthday bash! It made July such a fun month, and don’t worry, you haven’t seen the end of giveaways on this blog!
July seemed like the month version of a summer day- long, dreamy, a little bit lazy, and lovely. If I’m honest, I’m not much of a summer person. I prefer fall and winter, and have a hard time not wishing the summer season away. I’m trying to embrace it, though. This July was a little bit magical, while still containing hard days. I was saddened by circumstances around me several times, but overwhelmed by how much I love my life. I’m blessed with the best family and friends a girl could ask for. I invested a lot of time in creativity throughout this month, and now my mind is an ocean of ideas. I’m wondering which ones will be realized and what is coming next. In July I turned a year older- I’m 22 now, and I think I’m going to love this age. I’m starting to feel like I can just be myself.
I’m entering August with a tinge of trepidation. School starts back this month, and truthfully I’m not looking forward to it. My mind is on fire with creativity, and I’m always afraid that that creativity will be stifled with study. But I’m not going to allow that this year. I’m beginning my final year of college! I am simultaneously wondering how I’m already here and why it isn’t over already. The opportunity to go to college is not one I take for granted, and yet I don’t feel like I fit in at my school. I’m looking forward to being off campus in an apartment, to having some time to myself, and to finishing my degree strongly. Look out senior year, because I here I come.
Here are five things I want to do in August:
– Continue posting on the blog 5 days a week. I did pretty well throughout July, and I want to keep it up! This will involve a lot of planning with my soon to be busy schedule, but I just love putting energy into creating a post each day. I’m working on some fun apartment related projects, so let me know if you want to see those!
– Make more videos. I want to experiment in video making more this month and explore making videos outside of beauty videos.
– Finish reading the books I’ve almost finished. I have multiple books that I’m near the end of and just haven’t finished yet!
– Explore a new place.
– Utilize my planner to create space in my life. When I’m in school it is easy to over work and over schedule myself. This year I’m going to make creating space for rest a priority.
I hope your July was amazing! What are you looking forward to this August? Thank you so much for stopping by today! 🙂
