I found these three records at a fantastic local estate sale a few weeks ago. Bing Crosby and Gershwin are favorite artists of mine, and how could I resist the soundtrack from the 1970s version of The Great Gatsby? I’m thrilled to add these little gems to my collection.
I found this scarf at an adorable thrift shop while I was in Chicago. I believe it is from the 1920s. It has some stunning bead and rhinestone work and looks quite fetching tied around one’s head. It’s made from a gorgeous piece of silk, and only set me back $1!
This final find was one I originally thought would go in my Etsy shop. However, once I got it, I knew I would have to keep it for my self. It is an Edwardian era blouse that is just oh so Downton Abbey. Because skirts were so high-waisted during this time period, the blouse is a bit of a crop-top length on me. I was recently reading about the Victorian revival styles of the 1970s, and how young women often wore antique tops such as this. Immediately I wanted to pair this little guy with some flared jeans and chunky wedges. When I do, I’ll be sure to post about it!
The top itself is in gorgeous condition, and I’m especially smitten with the mother of pearl buttons.
Have you had any thrifting luck lately?
