Vintage Neutrals

Happy Friday friends! I hope you all had a wonderful week, and that those of you here in the States are ready for the long holiday weekend! I’ve had a wonderful busy week at school, and I’ve just been loving the teaching process. The weather today has been absolutely beautiful, and I’m anticipating a beautiful weekend. As we near autumn, but I’m still wearing my summer capsule, I’m trying to find ways to create transitional looks from the pieces in my current closet.

Today’s look is a bit of a nod to vintage but also incorporates some more current trends. This button-down skirt has been in my wardrobe for several years, and I love how it transitions seamlessly from season to season. It’s light enough to wear in summer, but perfect with tights and boots in the cooler months. Today I paired it with a simple blue and white tee. I love this classic combination, and it’s one I wear all the time! For accessories, I went with my lace up flats and vintage bag. A wool hat and a pop of berry lipstick finishes off the look with a nod to autumn.

Also, how dreamy is this evening light as we near fall?! 🙂

  1. Loving EVERYTHING about this look! Button front skirts are always my favorite and I love how you paired everything together. Still totally want to steel you bike too:)
Usually transitioning to fall for me means pulling out sweaters, plaids, neautral colors, and boots.

    1. Thanks so much Carmel! A few years ago I would never have thought I would love a button front skirt so much, but it’s just so versatile and polished! Highly recommended. 😉 Also I felt like such a blogger cliche buying these shoes, but I’m kinda obsessed with them. 😀
      Happy long weekend to you!

  2. That skirt looks so versatile and is now on my thrifting list! i saw another one that was denim on pinterest and it seems the button front skirts are following me around begging me to get one! LOL! And those shoes. . . i want a pair of those too! They are just so. . . beautiful! Gorgeous photos! You are right, that lighting is fabulous. Transitioning to fall for me means pairing a lot of my high waisted skirts with tights and boots. I love them, because most that I have are in deeper colors that are perfect for all year round. so excited to boots and my lace up heeled oxfords again!

    1. I definitely recommend thrifting a skirt like this Victoria! They really are just so versatile! I’m loving the lace-up shoe trend right now– they make me feel like a ballet dancer! 😀 High waisted skirts with tights and boots sound so lovely and perfect for fall! I love deeper colors as well, especially a deep berry or red! 🙂 Ohh, and oxfords are just the cutest!
I hope you’re having a wonderful week, Victoria!
